boots returns

Good Afternoon

 

Just wondered if you can help me with an issue from boots, I sent an item back using a pre paid label that they issued through their returns portal on their website, I returned the item, and the item has got lost in the post, I have proof it was collected from me and shows this on royal mail tracking but after it reaches Nottingham postal service office  the parcel goes missing, I contacted them to ask for a refund and they said because they haven’t had it they will not refund and because I used a pre paid label they issued under the terms and conditions I cannot get a refund, I have contacted royal mail and they said that because boots where the customer who bought the postage for me to return they have to claim which they will not do, I am £63 out of pocket and I cannot directly contact a manager at boots, I am at a loss of my rights with this but feel very let down by boots and feel I did everything correctly?

    2.  Return free by post


    Download and complete the returns form, include this form in a parcel with the item(s) you want to return. Create a returns label with Royal Mail and take the package to the post office. Ask for proof of postage and keep the receipt safe. We will send a refund email once we have processed the return. Sorry, we cannot accept any returns that have been collected directly by Royal Mail.
