First passport questions

Do you need interview when apply for first passport online because I wouldn't be able to travel to a passport office if do

And what is the waiting time for first passport normally and can you use mother's expired passport number when fill in online details ?  Or does it need to be valid passport

As this overlaps with your existing thread, it would probably make more sense to simply continue with that one, rather than starting another?

If you have to have an interview it can be done over MS teams.  You arrange this when you make your appointment

Thought they'd abandoned interviews for first adult passport?

Wife had to have one, questions were stupid, she got several "wrong" (remembering they are things like how do you get to the supermarket, who does your spouse work for, what's the families favourite meal and how do you make it). At the time official stats were that 3 people had failed since their introduction a few years earlier but were claimed a massive success because the number of applications had dropped which they'd accredited to fear of the interview.

No they still happen.  Some of them now get waived but certain applications must have an interview.
