Even this lot with a low political aptitude can't be that stupid. Labour: "hold my cup"...4 -
The right wing news outlets are suggesting that the government is considering cutting the Cash ISA allowance to £4,000.
Make of that what you will.2 -

Left wing rags have been reporting this for many days/weeks and even today the Guardian is following it's previous story from 2 weeks ago with another "click bait" cash ISA could be limited to £4000 story if you want to call it that.
I suppose because it doesn't suit one's own biased view of the world it best not be mentioned.

I suppose because it doesn't suit one's own biased view of the world it best not be mentioned.Senior City executives have had meetings with Reeves, and at the most recent there were discussions about possibly limiting the cash Isa allowance to £4,000 a year, the Telegraph reported.https://www.theguardian.com/money/2025/feb/20/savings-providers-vow-to-fight-any-attempt-to-cut-cash-isa-limit4 -

The Guardian piece (not behind a firewall) is quoting a Telegraph article (behind a firewall) so the left-wing rag is actually making the content of the right-wing rag more accessible.5 -
But still no mention of IFISAs. So the fact they've not been mentioned probably means it's to be taken with a pinch of salt1

I have long been in favour of a cut to £6,000 or £12,000, given it’s clearly madness to be able to save more tax free per year than you can actually earn. Either of those would make the limit divisible equally by 12, as Alistair Darling made a point of ensuring at one time.£4,000 would be going back to 2010 ish and not equally divisible, so hopefully that isn’t the number.1

Apologies all, I did start a new thread on this subject as hadn't seen this one that was already active. I guess its a case of wait and see, and reading the replies its possibly just a story that's been whipped up by both the left wing and the right wing media.
Will hold out and see.0
