Snug Sofa issue

Hi. I bought a sofa directly with Snug Sofa in May 2022. I received no notification but heard last year it had gone into administration. They are however still selling Snug sofas in SCS. My sofa has developed a fault and is not yet 3yrs old and for over £1100 for a 2 seater I would expect it to last longer and I can’t find anywhere what the warranty/guarantee was. I’ve emailed Snug (thought I’d see if emails would be redirected) but bounced back. Do I have any rights at all ? I’d imagine SCS would have nothing to do with it? Thanks

It looks like SCS bought Snug's assets from the administrator which may well mean any warranty or consumer rights died with that transaction.

SCS has closed down the Snug brand in late 2024 which may explain why you have not had a response.

How did you pay for the sofa originally?

I sadly bought it with Snugs interest free option with payments made with Divide Buy so paid 12 instalments they took with my debit card so not sure that would entitle me to chargeback etc?

What is the nature of the fault?

It may be possible that there is S75 / S75a protection, but some exceptions apply to some types of BNPL and I am not clear on the rules.  I am sure another member of the forum will be able to advise.

There won’t be section 75 protection as agreements made on a 12 month or less basis with Divide Buy aren’t regulated.

Unfortunately OP, there will be almost no avenues open to you. SCS wouldn’t be responsible.

No chargeback rights. As way out of time for faulty.
Any claim would be against the finance company Divide Buy, If this payment is under S75. So you would need to contact them.
