Universal Credit and reasonable adjustment - Am I being discriminated against ?

No, not yet. The key is where they are able to do so. You say it yourself. They need to check your ID, they do this for everyone. If they can do it remotely they do, regardless of your needs. If they cant then it’s in person.Gokaija said:.My question is ...Is this discriminatory ? Since everything I have read seems to imply that the DWP are bound by Law to make reasonable adjustments where they are able to do so and in this case I am being faced with what appears to be a flat out refusal.
After this they should be able to do your meetings remotely, this is where your reasonable adjustments kick in.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

If there is potential for ID to be at risk and this rules out biographical check via phone call, if a Job Centre appointment is not possible, then it would be a home visit. Is it not possible to attend Job Centre with a support worker, possibly at a time when the Job Centre is quietest. And the Job Centre may be able to arrange a meeting room, so you are not sat in the public area. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

This on the nose. Telephone ID checks are the first port of call - if you’re not being offered one it’s not because someone is trying to be awkward.tomtom256 said:So it could be that you have a ID at risk marker or that they don't have sufficient data to conduct bio questions.
They are unable to confirm if your ID is at risk, but can tell you if there isn't enough data.
DWP guidance changed late last year, to offer telephone ID appointments in the first instance to people migrating from ESA to UC.You can also use a bank card as ID for UC purposes.0
