Virgin Media | Existing Customer vs New Customer

Hi all.
Just wanted to ask for some guidance. I currently have virgin media broadband 350mb and pay £47 which I find is getting more and more expensive. There are deals for NEW customers much cheaper than this… how am I best dealing with this when I am out of contract in August. I can’t really afford to move providers for a year as the next best speed is 50mb with Sky.
Appreciate any help here

What’s exactly are you asking , if the speed from other providers isn’t good enough for you to consider using them , then you are stuck with VM , until an FTTP alternative becomes available .
If/when other providers install FTTP in the future , you will have an alternative as far as speed is concerned, but if you are within a minimum term until August and don’t want to pay early termination charges , then you have around 6 months to wait before you realistically can do anything.
During these 6 months FTTP may become available…..if you are asking can you do a deal with VM now on price with 6 months remaining on your VM current deal , you can ask , I doubt they will consider it , after all there is no benefit to them , if they do offer to lower the price , it doubtless it will be in exchange for a new 24 month remaining minimum term , so should FTTP become available you by August wouldn’t be able to switch without ETC ….0 -
Are you sure a 50 Mbps service wont suffice? A lot of people vastly over estimate their requirements0

Do you have a partner you live with? If so sign up a new contract in their name. This is perfectly legitimate as I have asked retentions if I can do this. I have done three times now. Just arrange the installation for the day you are due to be disconnected. It's possible you may be without internet for a few hours or 1 day at most.I now have 1 gig BB and bigger bundle (over 200 channels and 360 box) for £41 a month. I would have been paying £67 just for BB and basic stream.0
