Thames Water Direct Debit Payments

It would appear that Thames Water, although saying they will help with bill payments, in actual fact couldn't care less about their customers.

I recently received my water bill and went on line to set up a monthly direct debit which should have worked out at just under £25 a month. When I tried to set it up TW wanted a first payment of over £100 and then further monthly payments of the same amount. I queried this on the telephone and was told that the extra amount of money was for estimated future use and a price rise and also - "that as the system was automated I would have to pay the said monthly amount".

I therefore had no choice but to pay the full amount on the bill.

Oh, what joy it must be to be a shareholder !
