Trading 212 - what do we think?

Be very careful holding any money with Trading 212. I held my savings with them to take advantage of the Cash ISA rate. Some hackers were able to completely take over my account and steal my money even though I told T212 my account had been hacked on multiple occasions. The security is not fit for purpose. Use this platform at your own risk.

What exactly happened? Did you use two-factor authentication and if so, how was that compromised? Aren't any withdrawals made to a nominated linked account of yours?mrnovember said:Be very careful holding any money with Trading 212. Trading 212 now forces 2FA on accounts. Previously you could log in with your password and username, but that's no different to HL and other more traditional platforms.0

Has anyone else had a sudden spate of spam/scam calls shortly after opening an account with Trading 212?
The past year or so I average 1 or 2 such calls a month, since opening a Trading 212 cash ISA I've had 6 in 8 days. Might just be a coincidence but this is the first new company I've given my mobile number to for quite a while and the fact the calls started literally a couple of days after opening the ISA makes me suspicious.0 -
No. Probably a coincidence.

I would not touch them with a barge pole. Having deposited 20k in an ISA with them, once their introductory rate ended I found way better elsewhere. 2 months on from initiating a transfer from 212 they still have not responded to the request despite several reminders from my new ISA provider. Once they have your money they seem reluctant to let it go; either that or they are very inefficient. Their transfer process in not linked to the industry-wide electronic system so is processed manually which may explain some things. Worst transfer I have ever encountered.
