Thanks.
It looks like everybody will ultimately have to move from BT to EE but as there have been many complaints about that transition so far I'm currently sticking with BT. My contract's up in November this year so I think I will see what's available then, e.g. a better deal with BT (if that option is available), a good new deal with EE or a move somewhere else.....1 -
That gives you between now and November to make the move to a non ISP email solution. Having a different email address to migrate to is not really an issue if you have time to transfer things across. Also gives you an incentive to unsubscribe from websites and get rid of junk and spam that has gotten attached to that email over time.0

Good to hear I am not the only one who is happy with BT. Never been with anyone else & always manage to wangle a discount from them by pleading poverty, senility & loyalty! Had minimal issues over 50 years so I feel I pay for reliability. Seen so many friends move to cheap deals elsewhere & have endless problems. Some things in life are worth paying for IMHO. I am frugal with things that others seem to spend a fortune on as I am not into the latest gadgets, gizmos, tech etc.

Another one who is perfectly happy with BT - been with them ages and never had problem when I have needed help. Had to move to EE (only for this sim - still with BT for everything else) as wanted to add mobile sim for child and they no longer did that (still have 2 BT sims on the go) and EE were awful but that’s another story! September is my end of broadband contract - not looking forward to that.0

Kind of. I was with Plusnet (still part of the BT Group) FTTC, but the phone line was with BT (I paid for broadband, and my parents paid for phoneline). I tried to switch to FTTP with Plusnet about two and half years ago, but that cancelled the phoneline. Manged to get the phoneline reinstated. The FTTP install feel through because there was a blockage in the duct. I wanted the new Plusnet Hub Two router as my Hub One was playing up. The only way I could keep that was agree to a new FTTC contract. So I had to switch to Plusnet FTTC with Phoneline.
Recently the ducting got fixed. But as Plusnet don't offer a phone service with their full fibre service, I manged to switch to EE without incurring an early termination fee with Plusnet.0
