Late reply to CNBC Claim Form

Nobody here told you to email the defence, you were told to submit it on MCOL for instant logging
That a and b is correct for people who arent out of time, but you were out of time, so the goalposts moved
Its one or the other, never both , never post either unless there were exceptional reasons ?
We do not recommend using MCOL at all apart from a) , and checking the claim history, thats all, nothing else
Everything else is normally by email at the moment, unless they make changes on MCOL in the future
But
For people in a race against the claimant, like you were, its all MCOL only until it shows as defended
Then you revert to the typical procedures and timescales as shown in the 12 steps etc
Copy and paste your claim history now, below, assuming that it's now changed from before , unless the CNBC have not logged it quickly ? ( it usually takes a few days before they log it )1 -
Argh! This is so confusing! Sorry for the misunderstanding about the instructions.
MCOL now says:A claim was issued against you on 18/12/2024
Your acknowledgment of service was submitted on 10/02/2025 at 22:16:02
Your acknowledgment of service was received on 11/02/2025 at 08:05:50

So the defence is not logged, because they haven't got around to it yet, but you probably have the auto email reply for the defence I'm your inbox or spam folder
Clearly it's still a race because you failed to follow the advice of at least 3 of us yesterday1 -
why do people not listen
I told you last night to log it on the portal
now please log the defence on the portal which you should have done last night
When someone has been told to do something 3 times as above then fails to take that advice then i actually give trying to help people as its such a waste

Hi Chirpy (and GF1pr). Please don't give up trying to help people just because I cocked up. Your advice was and is very much appreciated. I just misunderstood the process as there is an awful lot to take in about this process while simultaneously trying to understand the content of the defence response (all while under a great deal of stress). I got confused by the advice on the main forum threads and made a mistake - and it sounds like a potentially costly one.
The MCOL portal now does not offer me the option of submitting a defence - that option has just disappeared and it only shows the "If you admit all of the amount claimed, complete the Admission form" option.
This is causing me far too much stress and anxiety so I think I just need to bite the bullet and pay up on this one to put it behind me. I can afford the fine, but I just can't risk a CCJ. Before doing so, would you mind confirming whether paying up now will be the end of this and what the best process is of making that payment i.e. through MCOL or directly with UKCPS' debt collection service?
Thank you - and I really do mean that despite my inability to follow instructions properly. Stay with me on this - your support is greatly appreciated.0 -
Stop panicking. Whilst you were supposed to rush to get the defence submitted, there is no need to rush if your screw up has resulted in a CCJ. Even if you receive a CCJ by default, you have 30 days in which to pay it in full and it will not be recorded in your credit file. It will be expunged.3

Wait and see is all I can think of, apart from maybe phoning them to see if the CNBC claim responses team can log your emailed defence or not
Normally you have the time to process the information, but that lack of time was caused by your 6 or 8 week delay
We were extremely explicit in the remedy, an alternative to the usual process due to the time constraints
Either you will have the defence logged and it will proceed as normal, or the request judgment has filed meaning that you will receive a judgment in the post and you pay that total to Moorside Legal as soon as possible, no costly delays
Ps, you already told us back on page 1 that payment is made to Moorside2 -
Most likely the defence is logged there is a bar on any action by the claimaint3
-
Should it be needed, you could read the information you already have.
On the back of your Claim Form it says...
