hello

whats the best car to buy for 1.5k to 2k for a car used for mostly motorway for about 60 miles a day?

must be reliable, good mpg and low depreciation. (and quiet for the motorway driving:wink: )

i am thinking maybe honda accord or audi a4?

what do you think?

many thanks

How old are you looking as you will have to go far back in the plates to get an a4 or an accord for those prices.

A Honda would be better I guess

I have a Honda (Civic mind you) and it is a great car and has never let me down, I used to have a 16year old Civic which never had a problem ever since it was bought new by my Grandad.

Audi would be expensive to fix and it does happen especially as it'll have a lot of miles on.

based on the budget, the bigger the car (A4 etc), the older it will have to be. Have you condered cars like the Focus or Astra. They are great on motorways and for your budget you will get something a bit newer too. I drive 50 miles each way on the motorway to work and I have happily been doing it in a Seat Ibiza 1.4 for 6 months. Before that, I use to commute in a Rover 200 Turbo Diesel.

Nissan Primera or a Mazda 626 would probably fit the bill, both ultra reliable.;)

a newer focus or astra will be quieter than an old audi or honda rattling about.
    how quiet is quiet anyway?

i meant quiet as in inside the car (road and tyre noise) on the motorway, more relaxing and less tiring.
