Getting FTTP Installation options

I'm probably going have to bite the bullet and move from my FTTC provider to full fibre but was wondering how much leeway I have in where the incoming fibre will be installed. My fibre will come via the telephone pole and currently my copper line comes in from the drop cable at the front into the front corner in my living room.
The problem I have with this location for fibre is I don't really have any spare power sockets in that corner of the room and would actually like to have the router more central in the house. Will they be willing to route the fibre cable up the side of the house to come in from there? It isn't a straight run as the side of the house sits out from the front in an L shape. The point I want it to come in is probably about 12 to 15m away from the drop cable.

On which network ?, Openreach look to use the existing fixing on the house so the new cable attaches in the same place as the existing one , but the cable from there to the CSP and the CSP into the house , doesn’t have to follow where the existing copper cable goes , generally with a standard installation , 30m of cabling is OK , but theee some exemptions, like complicated internal cable runs , but mainly on the exterior wall ( what you describe ) doesn’t seem particularly problematic….as far as others City Fibre , Netomnia etc , I dare say they are similar1

I found the Openreach chap to be very understanding about where I wanted the cable to run and between us we settled on a satisfactory routing, totally different to the old copper cable route. I dare say Openreach people vary though!Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.3

Probably, the chances are your request won’t be a problem, cable entering at the side of the property and not the front , if it only adds 10-15m to the run , obviously you would have more cable on wall , but if that reduces the amount of cabling inside then the installer isn’t going refuse, the potential problems are when what the customer wants is not practical or too time consuming, but no one on here can give a 100% guarantee, if you and the installer can’t agree, the job just gets cancelled anyway1
