They may in future is lingo for is no plans to do it.

Barclay brought out tesco bank.  Within a month they closed my tesco credit card account.  I am already their customer, they closed the account with the best terms, and the amazon deal is a way to entice new customers to their services, its not in their interests to let existing customers hop on to it easily.

Thats my view now, however I do spend a lot on amazon, so the lure is still there for me to ditch m,y barclaycard, wait it out and then apply for the amazon card.

It seems you can switch from your current barclaycard to the amazon barclaycard but can’t have both open, I’m not sure if switching will still get you the gift card they are offering.

Why did they close your Tesco card?

I applied for £40 AMZ - have Tesco card which I want to keep, rather than Barclays, which I'll hold on to for a while then close. If Barclays threaten to close Tesco, I'll cancel the Bcard immediately.

The application procedure says that it must be made on a mobile device using the Barclaycard or Barclays app. But there, as far as I can see, it only offers application through the Barclays app. For reasons that it is probably not worth mentioning here, I want to use the Barclaycard app, NOT the Barclays app. Does anyone know how this can be done?

And if I try to change my card using the Barclaycard app, then Amazon is not offered.

I'm inclined to think it may be a matter of timing. The possibility of changing from an existing Barclaycard to the Amazon one is fairly new. Perhaps the app just hasn't been updated yet

I don't see the option to change oi the Amazon card in either app.

Interesting. And yet the text in Amazon's details clearly say it can be done. As mentioned, I think this option is fairly new, so perhaps the apps just haven't been updated yet.

If you go on the amazon app to apply for there card and answer some questions like are you a customer of barclaycard already, it will take you through to where you click a button and it takes you into your barclaycard app and you can apply to change the card over.

I'll try it again, but up to now this did not work on my iPhone, the only clickable button was to the Barclays app, not Barclaycard. And there are good reasons why I don't want to use the Barclays app
