There is a lot on here who have the card, but there is a limitation that you cannot apply if you have a normal Barclaycard. So curious if people have found a way round it, or they just cancelled and waited 6 months to apply?

I'm not bothering to apply for one, happy with the current cashback Barclaycard I have
Edit: According to the FAQs it may be opened up to existing Barclaycard holders in the future - probably as a switch option.1 -

I've also seen commentary elsewhere that Barclaycard are seeking to enable new card applications from existing customers. It should be noted that their newly acquired Tesco Bank operation already allow this, so it'll be telling to see what happens to that policy as we head towards Barclays fully integrating Tesco Bank in to their own systems.0 -
Just had an offer from Amazon offering a £50 gift card on successful application but only blocker is I have an existing Barclaycard.0

I've recently taken an Amex card- and am running through my introductory extra cashback - so have closed my Barclaycard and will wait 6 months to apply for the Amazon card as I want the £50 sign up bonus (if it's still offered).0

Does anyone with an Amazon/Barclaycard have problems with their Direct Debit? Twice I've had the DD fail and am urgent demand from them to make me process a manual payment.
I paid it as soon as I had the message from them telling me the DD failed last week and discovered today that they charged me 23p interest!!!
They have credited me back now, but I think they are going to blame me for the request failing, even though it has been successful previously, and in fact they told me it was a known problem back in March!!

I have a question on this. I've got the amazon Barclaycard credit car, they have given me a £4000 limit. I have a holiday coming up with a balance of £12000 that has to be paid next month. I have the cash. Would there be any problem in me paying £4000 off on the card, then paying it off as soon as it shows. Then once the balance shows as nothing, repeating the process twice more? Be worth £120 in cashback if I can which is not to be sniffed at. Thanks.0

Thanks. There should be no issue in doing this - as long as the company you're buying from are happy to accept 3 separate payments, and as long as they accept payment by credit card.As you say, you do need to check that each transaction has cleared before you make your payment to the card.
