MSE's SIM only Comparator

What am I not understanding about this comparator? Every deal suggested says "No Wi-Fi Calling" and "No 4G Calling". So what edition of 'G' are they using? My Pixel 4a doesn't do 5G, only 4G. So does this mean I can't use any of these SIMs?

I would question the MSE SIM finder around this info. For example, it says no WiFi calling is available through ID Mobile, but I can confirm that you can use WiFi and 4G calling with ID.

It may be prudent to have a Google to see whether your preferred network actually does offer WiFi and 4G calling.

If you can't use 4G or WiFi calling, you will be relying on the 3G and 2G signal to make calls.

Wifi calling and 4G calling both involve voice going over internet protocol.  Essentially your voice could be transmitted like data.

Some SIM card don't support these more modern features.  Maybe your phone doesn't support these either.  You can still use Wifi and 4G on your phone for data - including things like Whatsapp calling.

I did some Googling and the Pixel 4a is capable of Wifi and 4G calling (even without Whatsapp).

Be aware that just because a phone can technically do 4G/wifi calling doesn’t mean the networks will allow it, especially for very old phones (like your 4a).

    ps
WiFi Calling isn’t WhatsApp calling, WiFiCalling allows you to make and receive calls on your mobile number over your network even if only connected to WiFi.

Both WiFi and 4G / VoLTE calling are both model and network dependent.  Even though the phone may technically support both what works on one network may not be supported on another or even an MVNO of the one that does.  Even the same phone model supplied through different channels / networks may behave differently on different networks.

Thank you all for your helpful replies. I know my current SIM doesn't do Wi-Fi Calling or VoLTE as it's an RWG £15 Free. I was looking at changing my phone for a Pixel 8 and changing network to ID Mobile. That's where I found the discrepancy between MSE's comparator and what ID say on their website.

How do I flag this up to MSE?
