DCA enquiry led to excess mileage refund!

Just wanted to share maybe a success. But found it more intresting than anything.
So I submitted a DCA claim to Mercedes-Benz financial services last year when it was featured on MSE. I did hear back from MFS putting the claim on hold while the matter was discussed at government level.
In January I received a letter from Mercedes financial services explaining that I was wrongly charged for excess mileage relating to my car finance and that they’ve referred my case to a solicitor to refund the amount
And then finally in February I received a letter from that solicitor explaining that I would receive around £900 as a refund with 8% interest and a £150 goodwill gesture included in that.
What I’ve found the most interesting though is that I’ve had no contact with Mercedes-Benz financial services in years. They would only have received my new address through the DCA enquiry. I raised no complaint against the excess mileage charge so this leads me to believe the following the DCA enquiry they have looked at my account and tried to resolve any additional matters relating to the financial agreement.

Hopefully something like this can happen to more people because clearly there was a lot of wrongdoings in the way car finance has been handled in the past .

Hopefully something like this can happen to more people because clearly there was a lot of wrongdoings in the way car finance has been handled in the past .A complaint requires them to check all aspects and multiple people have previously said that they have received a refund for something like this. Another area is the final payment was not taken into account correctly when repaid early.
