Samsung Galaxy 20e trying to back up my calendar

I'm still trying to get my head around new technology and it's challenging to say the least.

I use the calendar on my phone for everything (mainly reminders!) and a friend
mentioned that I should definitely back the entries up as I've not got the appoinments noted down anywhere else.

I seemed to have managed to get a Samsung Account on my phone but when I try to back up the calendar it tells me there's no data.  I have Google calendar on my phone but i don't use that so presumably I'm using Samsung calendar so can't understand why it's telling me there's no data when I can clearly see there are dozens of entries over the year.

Can anyone help, please reply in very simple terms.

Thanks.

It might be that you are using the Google calendar, and the entries you are seeing on the Samsung calendar are synchronised entries.

I've just looked on my Galaxy, I only ever use the Google calendar and yet I can see entries when I open the Samsung calendar app. Backing up to the Samsung cloud shows no data to back up.

You might be able to check this by opening the Google calendar in Chrome on another device and seeing if your entries are there.

Hi, thanks for replying.  Yes, I checked which calendar I use and it's definitely NOT the Google calendar, hence the mystery.

Thought I'd double check by accessing my Samsung calendar on my laptop and......you can't.

That's pretty poor, a reason why for me the Samsung calendar is really no replacement for the Google (or even the MS) equivalent, I need to access and update from devices other than just my phone.

Thanks for trying. Looks like I'd be best to transfer all entries to Google calendar.
