I double checked the link, it worked for me also but here is the address http://www.houseofnames.com just incase

I have read the site a bit more and it states
All products sold by HouseofNames.com are completely authentic. Research and writing is done "in-house" by a team of historians at the head office of our parent company, Swyrich Corporation. Swyrich and its partners have been researching and writing family name documents since 1968. The library of source materials used for our histories has been chosen for its reliability and authenticity.
so I am guessing they are real.

My OH wants to get his tatooed now  what have I done

If they're real why can't they even capitalise my surname? It says "Arms of the House of surname". Interesting though.
    :money:
  • The coat of arms that was displayed for my surname was correct, having spent many hours trawling the net researching my genealogy, and as I have an unusual surname, quite easy to check it's veracity.

could be an Idea for a cheap gift (if you don't want to splash out on what the site offers you) print it off and frame it for someone.

My coat of arms is visually correct, but the historical info behind its origins is pretty limited, missing the most important features,. Based on my own genealogical research the 'famous' person with that surname (a distant cousin) actually had a different name according to Burke's Peerage - it's possible to find better using a basic Google search.

yes I liked the image, would of liked some more info on the background of my surname, do you now any good sites?
  • mine is basically correct thought it was missing one part according to the one i have on the wall and nothing of the wording/ background is correct
