    Once again thank you all.
Alderbank: I believe currently pub is being managed on behalf of the licensee.
Pink shoes: You correctly point out about the previous incident with no safeguards put in place. I'm unsure if insurance previously paid out.
Light flare: I am not a repeat offender 😁
Thanks one and all for the positive comments. I am going to piece all relevant ideas together to build an argument against paying much, if anything ,towards a replacement.

    Regards

HItting the cue ball so hard that either it or other balls took off and travelled far enough to break a TV might be considered negligent.  However, as it has happened before the pub should have done something to mitigate the risk.

    For the pub.
The standard of pool players in a pub will vary a great deal, this should be factored when placing a pool table and a TV. There is a max distance a ball can travel (unless playing silly beggars) and a TV needs to be out of this range.

Having been in a pool team and played many venues, and having seen numinous balls fly off the table, I have never seen one even close to breaking a TV as they have always been placed at a safe distance.

One other thing that you might consider, did you 'sky' the ball i.e. it jumped off the table without hitting another ball, or did it hit other balls and then bounce off the table. If you 'sky'd' the ball then it could be construed as negligence on your part, if it hit other balls causing it to bounce off the table, then that could be just an accident.

Hi Ivan, it definitely hit other balls on the break off. Pure fluke it skewed off up into the TV, but I did a heavy break, with gusto. Appreciate your input.
