REPLACEMENT BATTERY ;; How do I select the right one

TBH, if she is not sure, then why not pop to a local motor factor (maybe avoid Halfords or Kwik Fit) & let them fit one.
Other than that how much does she want to spend.Life in the slow lane0 -
TBH I'd hit Halfords. They might get things wrong but they're decent with aftersales, unlike some small businesses who will just shout at you to scare you off if you have an issue with a purchase!
If you plan on keeping the car, buy Yuasa - I think they have a 3 year replacement guarantee so after 2 years, just take it back if your daughter has let it run low over winter (this will wreck a car battery).1 -
Does it have stop start (if so battery will need coded)? What battery does it currently have?
Look beyond one seller prices will vary hugely also look at Varta and Yuasa batteries.
What are the model, engine and age of the Fabia?0 -
Look at a specialist supplier like https://www.alpha-batteries.co.uk/ or https://www.tayna.co.uk/
Also look at the current battery - post a legible pic of the label on it, and we'll help you figure out what it is and what's needed.0 -
I have used

There are discount codes as well if you look around
Petrol fabias seem to use an 027. An 012 has the same height and width so it could fit but ....1 -
Euro Car parts is good. You can type your reg in and it will show you compatible batteries. If you look around you might find a discount code.

GSF Car Parts is another one worth checking - again, reasonable prices and very good service.Zinger549 said:Euro Car parts is good.OP, are you planning on fitting the battery yourself? It's a very simple job on most cars (unless it's got start-stop technology and needs coding). But do make sure you've got the code for the radio before you disconnect the old battery. If you haven't got the code, you can often find it online (in fact there's a thread on here somewhere, and one of the top contributors is incredibly helpful, manages to find any code you want by some sort of magic). Alternatively you can buy a gizmo that plugs into the cigarette lighter to temporarily keep power to the radio, or you can jury-rig your own version using another battery and a pair of jump leads.

Nothing wrong with Lion batteries , they are usually the cheapest. Check out GSF car parts they are usually competitive
if you are not fitting yourself , check out Halfords price for the battery plus fitting0 -
thank you for all your replies
A friend also recommended GSF0 -
