Ryanair website forcing me down Pay by Bank payment option

I'm trying to book some flights on the Ryanair website and when I get to the payment stage, every payment time is erroring except for the Pay by Bank option.

Now it's not an insignificant amount of money so I want some Credit Card protection here, but the cynical side of me feels like Ryanair has rigged their website to not allow Card or PayPal over a certain amount as Pay by Bank is much cheaper for them on charges.

Has anyone else experienced this and have any advice?

  • So I managed to sort it by creating a new account rather than logging in with my existing one. 

    Not great all round...
  • I was going to suggest getting round it by using an OTA such as Expedia.

    While that might work it could come with its own problems.  It is generally recommended to book directly with the airline.  You will find a lot of threads here where dealing with an intermediary has not been ideal.

  • Same problem. Been trying for days to pay for a flight with credit card.Spoke with CS four times now, the second chat they were upfront and said its an IT error at Ryanair. The other three denied it, insisting I clear cache/cookies and ingognito mode. Did all that, tried different payment methods, different browsers etc. People have commented on X they've had problems since 29/1 !  Why they can't put a message on their website warning customers as I've spent ages trying to book. Clearly want to keep this quiet!  Will see if deleting the account helps, thanks.
