@TELLIT01 I understand your perspective, but I want to clarify that my mental health challenges are genuine and not something I use as an ‘excuse.’ I don’t expect Amazon to always make exceptions, but in this case, I only missed the deadline by one day and reached out immediately.
To be honest it does read like you expect Amazon to always make exceptions.

The one day deadline is irrelevant as it’s past the deadline

like others have said the fact they have granted yiu an extension before probably goes against you.

If you want to continue using your Amazon account I suggest you stop hounding them otherwise they are likely to close your account
  • I said i had a vaild reason. I reached out to them straight away despite my extenuating circumstances.
  • @DullGreyGuy Thanks for your perspective. That makes a lot of sense. Maybe I’ll take a step back from ordering online, as it has led to issues when I’m unable to return items in time. I appreciate the input from everyone.
  • @photome I understand, I would've liked Amazon to show some flexibility.

That said, I accept that Amazon won’t reconsider. I’ll take this as a learning experience and be more cautious with online orders in the future. Thanks for the input.

Amazon do show flexibility, and their returns are far more generous than consumer rights dictate, but they also need to have a cut off point, hence their refusal which is fair.

I think re-considering online shopping is a good idea. My best mate has MH problems, and her therapist has actually advised her to do this, as she'd buy things then forget to return them if they didn't fit, or just buying things that she didn't actually need. She has actually found it very helpful and now only buys from shops, or if she does buy online, she needs to discuss the purchase with someone else first to prove it's a well thought through purchase!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Worse, they hung up on me THREE times during the call.

I escalated my complaint to the Amazon Executive Team, explaining my circumstances. However, they still refused, despite the items being unused and in their original packaging. I even pointed out that Amazon had made return exceptions for me in the past, but they refused to reconsider.

    I have already tried:

Speaking to multiple Amazon representatives (they keep referring to their policy).

Contacting Citizens Advice and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) (but Amazon isn’t part of ADR).

Asking my bank for purchase protection, but they only cover faulty items.

Since Amazon won’t budge, I’m considering Small Claims Court, but I’m unsure if it’s worth it. Has anyone had success getting Amazon to reconsider a return after the deadline?

    Any advice would be appreciated!
From a different perspective, you bought something in the past and just now with a certain returns policy and missed it, so by rights the transaction is closed. Still, they've
    - covered any shipping costs for past returns they didn't have to allow
    - covered the restocking effort for returns that they didn't have to allow
    - spent time from customer services reps 3x
    - spent time time from execs

All of which costs them which you haven't been charged for. I'd suggest you stop now.

Understood your point. I do think you're right about reconsidering my approach to online shopping. It’s definitely something to reflect on, and I appreciate the perspective.

I see where you’re coming from, and I’ll take this as a learning experience moving forward. Appreciate the perspective."

    When was the purchase made?

From what I recall, for any purchase made in the couple or so months before Christmas the returns window was until January 31st 2025 ... that's a hell of a lot of flexibility.
