We recently changed a (30 year old) old NSH for a Quantum. The old SH "leaked heat" and was cold by about 5:00 pm.
Was that with it on minimum output during most of the day?
..yes, we always leave the "output" vents fully closed on all our old heaters, it's only a thin metal flap, and never seemed to make that much difference to be honest....
Does each heater have one mains connection or two?
They are Heatstore model HSDHHR125.
These have a capacity of 19.3 kWh; if you are charging 4 at £25 a night, that implies a unit rate of at least 32p/kwh.
I'm not sure about you arithmetic here!
4x19.3 = 77.2kwh total
That is charged over 7 hours which implies a rate of less than11p per kwh (77.2 divided by 7). The rate is actually 15p per kwh so maybe it costs me more than I thought.
77.2 kWh total, 15p per kWh so the total cost should be 77.2 x 15 p = 1158p = £11.58
If you divide 77.2 by 7 you just get the power that is being drawn by your heaters, just over 11 kW. That's assuming it takes the full 7 hours to charge them, probably they draw more power and charge faster. But kWh is what you pay for, check your bill!
