Sound proofing party wall

Hi all,
We bought our home just over 1 year ago but we have a major issue with the thinness of the party wall between us and our neighbour.
We can hear literally everything as if they are in the same room as us, and I mean everything
They also have dogs which bark for hours on end which is driving us insane.
We'd like to install some sort of sound proofing but thr previous owners have dot and dabbed the whole house which, when I've googled, is the worst thing for noise.
Can anyone offer us some advice on how we could sound proof thr walls without having everything off and starting again as I haven't got the budget for that.
Thank you

I've no idea of their efficacy but have been looking at similar as the deaf human of dogs who don't bark a lot, and are not left much, but I've no doubt one in particular makes plenty of noise at times and I'm about to move house. This sort of thing looks as though it might be a solution without the need for major structural work https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CX7X37JL/ think of it as wall paper once it's on

I don't think that dot&dab really can make things worse.Good soundproofing can be achieved only with some loss of space. Have a look at this recent thread: What is the best way of creating a soundproofing solution in a flat?2

If you can find a cheap way to soundproof a party wall effectively, your fortune is made! It’s easy to spend a lot of money for a minor improvement, and it is easy to spend a little money for an even more minor improvement. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1

Thanks for the replies
When I googled everyone says dot and dab creates a sound chamber which makes noise worse from adjoining walls.
If anyone has any type of solution we can try, I'll do it!
I can hear their conversations word for word, burping as if they sit next to me, walking up and downstairs, reading aloud and everything in between 🙈:TIf your happy and you know it clap your hands :T0 -

When I googled everyone says dot and dab creates a sound chamber which makes noise worse from adjoining walls. There are more "experts" in the internet than people in the world.Chambers?! Is it a fact that they make noise worse?Windows with triple glazing are more effective for soundproofing exactly because of an extra chamber. Similarly, double glazing is better than single.2 -
Unfortunately we've had builders tell us that the dot and dab does make sound travel worse than regular skimming as it creates a type of echo between the wall and plasterboard.
Only solution we've been offered is hack off, build a stud wall approx 10-15mm from prty wall with sound proof insulation behind then plasterboard and plaster but we just don't have the funds for this so wondered if anyone had a different solution:TIf your happy and you know it clap your hands :T0
