EV and Air Source Heat Pump!

Yes, you ought to be able to divide your gas kWh by 3 to get your electricity kWh when using the heat pump. Hopefully you will find that the divisor works out to be a bit more (3 point something) when you actually get that heat pump.Reed1

Thank you.
My actual figures are
Electric 3317.4 kWh and this includes charging
Gas 6428 /3 = 2142.66 kWh
Total 5460.06 kWh
I also have solar thermal water heating, which means I hardly need to use the boiler in the summer months (when the sun actually shines in the UK 😉)
I'll work out the Octopus and Eon tariffs.0 -
Also take a look at Tomato - probably even cheaper as long as you have a smets2 smart meter.
Another option is Octopus intelligent go that you can get if you have a compatible car or charger - I purchased an ohme go charger (plug in) which in theory gives access to this tariff.I think....1 -
Thank you, I was looking at Tomato too. Wondering what their customer service is like.
Yes, we have a smets2 smart meter, but we don't have a suitable charger for Intelligent Octopus Go and the saving we’d make with that tariff doesn't really equal the outlay of changing the charger.
Tomato appear to have a longer cheap overnight period to get our hot water and charging done. Lots to think about. I'm feeling a comparison spreadsheet coming on 😉1 -
Tomato is offering some really good prices but there isn't much confidence it will keep going so you need to research a second choice in case it doesn't. Also, if you have solar panels both Octopus and Eon Next offer good rates for export payments for their import customers whereas you can't use Tomato for export payments.Reed1

I will bear that in mind - thank you. I do not have solar panels unfortunately.0
