Has anyone heard of this company

Yes, I've heard of them and I'm currently using their services. I am nearing the end of transferring my DB pension into a DC pension, everything has been finalised and my DB pension provider said it should be completed within the next 5 - 10 days.SandraBam said:Hi, I've had the following company recommended for giving advice and wanted to know if anyone knows anything about them. They seem very professional and thorough, with regards to seeing if transferring would be in my best interests. As some have said in the previous posts, it's not suitable for most people and their circumstances, but it was for me.F.C United - Onwards and Upwards0 -
Hello @Forever_Red do you mind providing an update please? I have a DB pension as I used to work for a local authority. I work for a housing association now and that pension will remain but I am thinking about transferring my DB pension solely to Pensionhelp, so would appreciate an update on this, thanks.Forever_Red said:

You wouldn't transfer your DB pension to Pensionhelp - you would only use their services to transfer it to a DC pension of some sort.Mildreds_Earrings said:

As already mentioned, pensionhelp is not a provider.Mildreds_Earrings said:

DB transfers are suitable for around 1 in 10 people. Why do you think you are in the 1 in 10 that makes it suitable for you?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -
Apart from anything else, LGPS transfer factors are set by GAD and are notoriously low. A factor of 18 X the annual pension being given up wouldn't raise my eyebrowsdunstonh said:

In other words, in 99% of cases it is probably a non starter/bad decision.Silvertabby said:

@Mildreds_Earrings My DB transfer went through fine and Pensionhelp had it transferred it to my Aviva pension pot.
As many have said, the chances of a DB transfer being suitable and advised is very low. Fortunately for me, my circumstances were in a good place and I would still be able to support my retirement if the funds I'd transferred my money into went pear shaped and plummeted in value.
I did lose about 40K in a couple of days due to a certain Mr Trump announcing stupid tariffs, as my money transferred over a day or so before the markets took a nose dive but they've recovered about 75% of that loss and the money isn't going to be needed for another 12 months or so, so hopefully will keep on growing.F.C United - Onwards and Upwards1 -
That's very helpful. Thank you @Forever_Red 😊1

According to Aviva, I qualify for some sort of Enhanced Annuity (a better than normal multiple) because my recent medical records seem to be worth them taking a punt that they'll win in the end! I am surprised no-one has mentioned that possibility in this thread. Not everyone reaches pension age with average life expectancy ahead of them. Some DB wannabe transferees might understand.their side of the gamble better than most fit-as-butcher's-dogs IFAs!0
