As seen on the forum in the last week I am one of the many who has received a claim in the last few days.
I have read the advice and have tried to log in to MCOL.
I am getting the message 'enter a valid claim number' each time I try, despite me entering the claim number they provided.
I have contacted contactocmc@justice.gov.uk with screenshots of the number provided and the number I'm entering so that I have a paper trail.
Is there anything else I can do?0 -
Did you login to your government gateway account first ?1

You just log into your Government Gateway then under the claims section (or whatever it's called) you put in the Claim number and the MCOL Password.
The most common mistake people make is to misread a l (lower case ell) for capital I (eye).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the replies.
I have signed in to my GG account and there are no 'i' or 'l' characters in the reference number.
I'm getting the message 'enter a valid claim number'.

I have adapted and personalised the template as advised.
Any advice appreciated:3. Referring to the POC: paragraph 1 is denied. The Defendant is not indebted to the Claimant. Paragraph 2 is denied. The Defendant does not accept that a contravention occurred on 16/12/2022, as alleged. Whilst the Defendant is the registered keeper, paragraphs 3 and 4 are denied. The Defendant is not liable and has seen no evidence of a breach of prominent terms. The quantum is hugely exaggerated (no PCN can be £170 on private land) and there were no damages incurred whatsoever. In November 2022 the defendant moved house and received no notice of parking charges from the Claimant, the car in question was registered as SORN for a prolonged period of time. The Defendant received no communication regarding the claim until 29/1/25.
3.1 Due to the length of time, the Defendant has no recollection of the day in question. The Defendant has parked in this car park many times while shopping at Ystwyth Retail Park with evidence of transactions available to submit when required. The Defendant was unaware of the length of parking restrictions in place which had been shortened and changed. The Defendant had not noticed changes to the length of time allowed and there was no ‘Prominent’ signage close to where the vehicle was parked, showing the terms and conditions for use. The small signage was not suitable to alert a motorist, leading to an unawareness of any changes to parking restrictions.
