Good news, I have managed to provide a few pieces of evidence to prove my purchase to Target, and now they are willing to offer a goodwill gesture to replace the darts for a set selection from their range. I see this as a success thanks to all the advice given on here, albeit it has left a bitter aftertaste for me and I will be more than cautious to buy their products in the future. Many thanks once again. Regards John

Have they just paid "go away" goodwill gesture or have they actually communicated a view on what "lifetime" warranty means?

They have just paid a "go away" goodwill, but so far it is the best I have without going down the legal route and costing me actual money. I really have no other way to work it, unless you can advise me. Regards John

I agree the OP can't really do any more and the "go away" money seems to be about equivalent (or perhaps more) to what the lifetime warranty would have covered in any case.  The only other route for the OP would be the legal route and it is not clear that the OP would still have grounds for a legal case given the "go away" money.

I guess my comment was really more around it would be a more satisfactory outcome if the company concerned were to actually review internally what a "lifetime" warranty actually means and either add a clear and unambiguous definition into the warranty terms, or realise that the phrase "lifetime" warranty is largely meaningless and the supposed marketing gain from making such claims is impacted by the individuals that don't receive the "lifetime" warranty when seeking to claim.  The "go away" money simply leaves the issue open to arise again.

No communication of what defines to them as a lifetime warranty, I did request the terms and conditions of which nothing was made of it.
