Thank you Ionafan. I've shifted 4lbs of chubbage, which was a lot more than I was thinking was possible in a week eating food I absolutely love. All I did was have a big breakfast because for years I've known that if I eat a big breakfast, like going out for one, I don't want to eat until 3/3.30 and then only a very light snack, savory for preference, and not much at supper.Yesterday's food was two scrambled eggs with smoked trout, 3.00pm was 200ml of pea and cucumber soup with a spoon of yoghurt, a few small oatcakes and some smoked mackerel paté and a chocolate ginger biscuit (much more than I've eaten at that time of day for the rest of the week but I was feeling greedy), last night's supper was a fish fillet, steamed broccoli, a tangerine, a small handfull of grapes and a chocolate pot. I neither gained nor lost weight, and all of that is homemade food. It was the most I've had in a day all week and was very indulgent. What I am not doing is dieting. I will stick to my no sugar Lent, but in the meantime I'm changing to this way of eating as my new norm. It's stopping me wanting to eat a bar of chocolate or standing over the biscuit tin and chomping until I'm full, which has been going on for years. It's that habit I need to break and this is the way forward for me.I have had indigestion for three days which has eased now but I'm pretty sure that's my gut biome adjusting to the new regime, and it's curbed my appetite and probably a lot less uncomfortable than the side-effects of a weightloss jab.Today I will walk the dog, make scrambled eggs for us to use up the last of the smoked trout, dust some more, make some curry paste, rest up later before making supper (shop bought pizza, so a real treat) and then we're seeing Seth Lakeman this evening. Big fans.Better is good enough.7

Happy weekend all,
I've been drained the last couple of days so no flying to report. Not long up after having a lazy morning, made the bed put a wash in the WM and I've put the clothes away that were hanging on the dryer. I'm just planning on a general tidy up today, the living room being the worst room atm, and returning some items of clothes.

Progress report:
- My desk is still covered in papers
- I have remembered that I need to write a birthday card (thanks for the memory jog, Fayolle) and do the laminating (which has languished on the piano all week) for delivery to different places tomorrow
- I've done WMx1 and the 2nd load is now swirling
- I've prepped spicy lentil soup - enough for 4 portions, so today's leftovers will be frozen - which should be ready soon after 1pm, leaving just enough time to file a few papers if I get a move on.
Helpful hint for someone, maybe... If you have bought C*c*n* brand chopped tomatoes from MrAl and can't get the tin opener to grip the top, try turning the can upside down. You might have a can from the same batch as I had, with a ring pull on the bottom!

Hello Ladies (and Gents) I don't know if anyone remembers me (I recognise several names) but I use to be in the group many moons ago but life got in the way so I stopped coming on.
Life's changed again and I'm now home alone with 2 cats but have found that I suffer alot of CBA so nothings getting done. I'm hoping that being back on here you Ladies will give me the motivation to actually get stuff done.
It might be a slow start as I have a few hospital appointments at the beginning of the week so it'll depend how they go. Also bare with my posting as I'm now laptopless and not always that clever on my phone but we'll see how it goes.7 -

I picked up the key to Pops' house from my brother's- stayed for a coffee and a natter. Poppy came on my knee for the first time 🐈 😍). Went to Pops' and collected all the dirty washing piled in, and in front of, his WM; collected all towels and tea towels (then used towels to mop up puddle on kitchen floor caused by defrosted FF!); luckily I'd taken an empty black bin bag with me to hold the washing. I filled it! I've sorted Pops' washing into loads - there's 6 or 7 loads!! I'll do it a load at a time over the next few weeks ... save him coming home to it.
Pops WhatsApp videocalled me from Benidorm. Its a regular Saturday morning call now. Good to see him looking well.
I'll sort the second load of washing nto the airer after it's finished swishing and had an extra spin. Apart from that I think it's a read a book afternoon.

Thank you @ionafan I found that really helpful, and the comments underneath. I have read both of her books but hadn't watched her in person (in case I disliked her and then couldn't read again!) and will now watch more of her things. He had filled a craft room, the in house workshop (reception 3), our half completed en-suite, any unused space in every bedroom, and half of the dining room with tools, craft stuff and his outdoors stuff. Outside there is a garage, bike shed, garden shed, a separate workshop to sort through, plus his blacksmithing forge and anvil. A long way to go yet, but slow and steady will get me there. I think I had instinctively starting doing the 'look' thing because I then process where I can put things and what needs to go before I actually make a start on things.
As it happened I had 'look, look, looked' at the airing cupboard the other day and given up. I know it is 'just' many sleeping bags, hammocks, etc so it was actually painless to fetch it all down to clip lock box it up ready to join the stacks in the garage. I have now dusted the shelves and left it open to air (how many cats will be in there when I go back up?) and will put away the recently sorted bedding that has been sat on the dining table for some weeks. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Welcome back WendyWitch.
- lake swim felt cold this morning!
- dropped into Mr L on the way home as usual to get a paper and bacon (for the bacon sandwich which seems a necessary lunch after a swim); ended up getting a few other 'specials'.
- did a lot of online research as we have 2 sets of curtains that are in need of replacement; the bedroom ones are standard size and don't need to be too special as we're mainly asleep in there; the lounge are bigger (front of house has bay window while the back is full length glass/french doors to conservatory) and nicer as we need to look at them more. Chose some from Dun3lm, reluctantly drove into town to see what they were like 'in the flesh' only to find they weren't in stock (contrary to what web site had said). However we chose some more (our 3rd choice) and are very pleased with them although no special offers sadly. Not sure what we are going to do about the lounge ones yet.
- long chat with DB to catch up on house/Mum's possessions news so I'm up to date. Both solicitors seem to be posturing and estate agent (i.e. the only one who can talk to 'both sides') is too laid back - hopefully less so now DB has had words with him.
I think that's it for today, I don't seem to have done much else!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9
