If it didn't, then in its place is a generic "STOP" message if/when it overheats - which seems to have happened first time and you stopped. I think the chance of doing further damage then was slim. And if you've kept an eye on it and topped it up a number of times, and the STOP message hasn't recurred, its probably not overheated. Car engines can tolerate being hot, or not having enough coolant in, if used gently for short periods of time (although its risky relying on it for much longer than a few minutes).
So, I don't think you've "cooked" the engine to the point of further damage, but you do have the original issue of the coolant leak, which is more than likely the heater matrix. If the warranty is still valid, and you keep quiet about the onwards use after its initial fault (and dumping a load of K-seal in it), and it covers overheating/heater matrix (it might not.....), then you might be able to claim on it but you need to find the warranty details and check the small print on it.Hi thanks for the lengthy response
It does have a temp gauge and it’s not gone above what it usually does- it sits at the 90 degrees mark
That’s the first time the stop message came up and I stopped as soon as I could (was on motorway) I then waited 10 mins as I was 4 min drive from home but when I started it again it didn’t come back on and hasn’t come back on again since.
I’ll have a good dig for the paperwork as I could really do with that. I’ve been passed a contact number to ring on Monday and I’ll keep it hush about the K seal. But yeah, most people have suggested the heater matrix to be the issue as well as Google

its been raining today and yesterday and so I would hazard a guess the mats would be slightly damp due to the rain.
should I expect it to be soaking through and very noticeable ?0 -
Yes check it especially drivers side next to the centre console.0

ive had a feel around today and it’s really hard to say. We had bad rain yesterday & the footwell is a little damp but that may be due to getting in / out. Had a feel first thing today and they’re still a little wet but not soaking through - that goes for both the driver and passenger side0 -
Update - the passenger side is quite damp , more then the drivers side0
