Health and savings journey

  • 2Pts today. Good workout, easy 100g protein.

Finally worked on a detailed breakdown of our spending with my wife because we are considering buying a new house. Trying to figure out what mortgage payments we can afford. We also figured out our retirement saving goal, which would be in addition to state pension.

Turns out we should be able afford the mortgage on our 'stretch' target house, while also saving enough monthly to be able to retire in roughly 17-18 years(I'm 40 years old now). It should also leave us with a few hundred pounds left over each month as a buffer. Hmmm. We will see. It depends on us selling our current place for a reasonable amount.

  • Yes we would for a while, but it should be affordable when we take away spending on the kids as they would have moved out by then(in theory).
