Not sure if this is more appropriate to Credit Card forum, but here goes:
I need to generate a monthly DD on my BoS current account.
I need to generate a monthly DD on my BoS current account.
I have set up a DD to pay Full Balance on a little used Barclaycard. The amount due each month will be £0.99.
Can anyone confirm that Barclaycard will request the DD every month for such a small amount?

You asked for a full balance dd, that's what you'll get.

That’s what I’d assumed.pochisoldi said:You asked for a full balance dd, that's what you'll get. Then wondered if Barclaycard might have a minimum amount needed to trigger a DD. Such as £1🤔0 -
If your statement says "£0.99 will be collected by direct debit on xx-xxx-2025", then they should be taking the money, yes.
Double-check your statement for confirmation is my best advice.2 -
I suspect OP is asking because there was a time when some cards would not generate a DD for minimal amounts.

Precisely that!molerat said:I suspect OP is asking because there was a time when some cards would not generate a DD for minimal amounts.
I need a replacement for my now defunct Ecology DD. Considering iCloud+ which would be useful, but only if DD collected every month.0 -
If you're unsure, could you perhaps buy the odd item on the card each month? I'm thinking a banana here or a loaf of bread there. Something you'll be buying anyway so no additional spend.0

Thanks I’ve done that in the past but I’ll be out of the country for several weeks & TBH I have enough money juggling to do already. It won’t be critical if this doesn’t work, I’ll just lose a few £££ interest.Time2count said:If you're unsure, could you perhaps buy the odd item on the card each month? I usually run it with minimal balance but as I won’t be able to move funds at critical times, I will leave a larger balance while I’m away.0 -
The RBS credit card backend, used by Natwest Group and also Tesco Bank, has a quirk where balances under £1 are written off rather than collected. Other than that, I'm pretty sure you can expect any other card to process a DD for any balance.

American Express definitely take the DD regardless of the amount. I had one taken for 79p when I held one

I've had a DD taken for £0.01 before.43581
