So what did you mean when you wrote this?

Yeah, it is annoying for me too, because I've not had a car in that time, as I've been waiting for this impending disqual. If choose to make an EH case, and am unsuccessful in doing so, I'd have "wasted" 6 months...
[Edit:  Was it crushed?  Thank you @MikeXJE]

If I lose, am I penalised further in any way?

So correct me if I am wrong

When you were caught without insurance

Was your car seized by the police with a deadline ( a couple of weeks) to pay a fee to collect or it would be crushed

At that time you decided not to pay the fee of £100+ ish because you might be banned

You have waited 6 months for this letter and if you are not banned you would have wasted all that time by not retrieving your car

I’m guessing the car wasn’t worth much was it ?

Did it have an MOT ?

Or you could argue that you have a tv programme to make. That would seem to be sufficient.

Coogan didn't make an exceptional hardship plea though. There's no reason to think that his argument made any difference at all - the penalty that he got (5 points) is perfectly standard for that speed on a motorway. If he'd been going 2 mph slower and he'd have got a 3 point/£100 fixed penalty.

The BBC article also contains a number of amusing errors (5 points and a 2 month ban, lol) which seem to be the result of the author not reading the Evening Standard report that he was copying from properly.

I have had my driving licence suspended twice on medical grounds (quite rightly so as I possessed a substantially higher than average risk on the roads).
Unless you have a vehicle that is specially adapted to accommodate someone for hospital visits, this will be a hard arguement to make, even then 'someone else could drive the vehicle'
For every arguement you have why you shouldn't be banned, Try and find a counter arguement (go through with a friend). This will be because the other side will counter with that to shoot you down.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
