Just wondering what best to do here, I've read the stickies.... do I respond online? What's the time limit to respond? And anything I should statein particular other than why I am not going to pay?
I've received a ccj 3 years ago because I ignored a lbc so I'm now very much going to be on it and if it comes to it I'd be happy to clgo to court and fight these disgusting people (overstayed in a BP where I spend thousands each year!)
Any advice here gratefully received.
Attwxjed is the letter and form...
Thank you.

You will be using the template defence, possibly with a few tweaks, no rush to do anything yet, except research
Met Parking via DCB Legal, issue date of 28 January 2025
Check that issue date in the POC on the lower left of the claim form, is it correct ?
Ps, your password and VRM details are unredacted in the lower half of that claim form picture, needs sorting out ASAP1 -
Thanks for that! I believe the date is correct... So do I defend this online? I visited the vp tonight to speak to the manager and she said she'd contact the parking guys and say I'm a regular customer... Is that any good do you know? Or too late in process?
Anyway what's the first thing I should do?0 -
Whilst you could complain about this to the landowner, and probably should have done long ago, you have a live court claim, in its infancy, no point contacting the parking company, they have employed dcb legal, a legal company, so they issued the court claim, neither are going to change it now, its gone too far
Study the defence template thread and post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Yes you defend online, but not yet, not until you do more research over the next few days here, waiting for the instructions in replies and getting up to speed between now and next week
So just research for now, no knee jerk reactions ( I deliberately didn't tell you what to do because its only just arrived ) but I did tell you one thing to do, which you haven't answered yet, because I believe that the date may be incorrect
I didn't ask what you believe, it's either definitely correct, or definitely incorrect, usually its the latter
If that date was the issue date, then what date was the incident date ? Check, don't assume2 -
With a Claim Issue Date of 28th January, you have until Monday 17th February to file an Acknowledgment of Service('AOS'). Do not file an AOS before 1st February, but otherwise there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an AOS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Having filed an AOS in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 3rd March 2025 to file a Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the AOS guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an AOS, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an AOS has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.4 -

May I ask why one has to wait 5 days or more before filing an aos?
To get the maximum time to file a Defence. The back of your Claim Form tells you:
Note the last sentence there - "The day of service is taken as 5 days after the issue date shown overleaf".
It goes on to say:

Pm thanks u will follow your guidanf closely. Looks like aos is pretty straightforward and done online.
I've had a quick read of the defence stage and my question is, should I copy and paste (and amend where required) the version that is there for us or should I make up my own worded defence? They must get loads of these same defence stayements and possibly dismiss them?0 -

As KeithP correctly pointed out, it's too early to actually do anything official yet, until February, hence why I didn't give you any other instructions apart from checking facts and doing research, too many people start doing things incorrectly instead of slowly slowly catchee monkey, plus many others dont understand the POC date point
