Water Bills Set to Rise for Majority

In articles last year I was let to believe the increase in water bills was to be spread out over 5 years, but the way I read this it is coming all in one year.

Your MSE link looks less than what i saw on the BBC News (19th Dec 2024 @ 10pm)
*Blue = water charge only (no sewage charge)
*Thames water wanted 53% increase but Ofwat only approved 35%
*These % amounts are before inflation
*These are proposed averaged (as per the title)
i find it interesting my average water bill is way less than my gas, electricity or council tax and yet water is essential for life.
