Same thing happened to a phone I had that I used as a radio outside in summer.Stuck it in a drawer through winter and onward and it wouldn't charge.Spoke to a couple of phone shops and they said the battery would be no more because they didn't like being left uncharged.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
