Limited capability to work

The backlogs are huge, as far as I understand. I don't know whether requesting a reassessment with new fit notes would make your work coach switch off requirements, but potentially, maybe.
Also if you inform them of a change of circumstances I believe if you are then awarded LCWRA it should be backdated*, but if you are just left until they decide to review your case it won't be. So I really think you need to report a change of circumstances and start submitting fit notes to get the process moving. They should send a form out and then although it still could take a while to get to you, during that while you'll potentially be accumulating backpay. And, you'd think maybe they might get to you a bit quicker than they otherwise would because you've reported a change rather than just leaving it, but obviously we can't say that for certain.
*Can other more experienced members please confirm or correct?
Also, how to report the CoC, via the 'report a change → report health condition' sections in the journal?1 -
They're LCW, so if they don't want to attend, the current commitments would be reporting a change of circumstances that would require certification.sammyjammy said:
Not true. OP will fill out the UC50 based on her needs and how her issues impact her, any other evidence is voluntary and a doctors letter stated a condition will not help at all.TimeLord1 said:
You will need a Doctors certificate to declare the changes or hospital specialist letters.
As for evidence adding copies of any specialist statements helps. Because they would just use previous evidence submitted, and they do seem to have any previous WCA outcomes and GP notes available, going back years in some cases.0 -
Personally, they should send the form out; it sounds to me that you were being fobbed off. Ring if it doesn't arrive by the end of next week or again, until someone sends out the requested UC50 form. Also your local Citizens Advice may have the form available.fluffysocksxx said:I did ring work capability it’s self and they just said there’s a back log and they will be in touch whwn they get down to me0 -
Does DWP not have to request it like they would for the initial referral?TimeLord1 said:

Yes, a referral needs to be made, whether it's fist time WCA or a review.Spoonie_Turtle said:

I think if they were on LCW but submitting sick notes, the work coach could request one. But I know people struggle nowadays to get forms; maybe they want you to download and print them off overall, but it slows the system down. But having been told in the past they could request a WCA every month for you to complete if they wished to. I remember someone who received four ESA50s in a twelve-month period and was told if it was sent, it needed to be completed and returned. They also had the decision letter after the second assessment stating support group. But new claims would be the priority over existing claims. @Spoonie_Turtle @poppy12345poppy12345 said:

You need to report a new or worsened Health Condition, and then you’d be referred for another WCA (as you’re already LCW there’s no need to obtain a further fit note etc).If you don’t report a change then your WCA review will just roll around as and when they get around to it as reviews are largely paused at the moment (in favour of clearing initial WCA’s and reviews for new / worsened health as a priority).1

I was put on LCW in June 2022 with a min 12 months recommendation by the tribunal and to date DWP have not reviewed me.0

It's a recommendation only and doesn't mean you'll be reviewed at that time. It's an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise.tifo said:I was put on LCW in June 2022 with a min 12 months recommendation by the tribunal and to date DWP have not reviewed me.0 -
