What can I do with her things?
Keith
I split with a girlfriend in October. However, I have a big black bag of her things still. She is showing no intention of collecting them.
I don't think that I can just simply bin them, so what can I do?
Thanks
Keith

Why can't you bin them? I would - no question of it. Anything useful could go to a charity shop.0

What sort of things?
You could give them back to her.Happy chappy0 -
If you are still in contact with her, tell her that she has 2 weeks to collect her things (or up til such & such a date) and then everything will be thrown away.
That way it's up to her. If she doesn't collect her stuff, give it to a charity shop or local brownie group to sell at their fetes (depending on what it is, of course).0 -
or............
tell her to come and get it within 2 weeks. If she doesn't come if there is anything in there that you could profit from ebay it. Anything else give to charityI saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -

They are her belongings and I don't think legally I have the right to just dispose of them.
I've tried googling as I think there is a period of notice that she has to collect them, but I can't find it.
Tom - I would if she lived round the corner but she lives about an hour away.0 -

How about parcel them up & post them to her? It'll cost you money but you'd be shot of them, making sure to post recorded delivery so someone has to sign for them.Winnings

Sometimes I wish there was a 'Laugh out loud' button as well as the thanks button - 'thanks' doesn't express what I want to say properly!0 -

Ah the other thing is she already owes me money which I think I'm going to have to take her to small claims to try and recover. So I'd prefer to not spend anything
I was hoping I could just send her a letter stating she has to collect them in 7 days or I'll dump them.
It's a long story!!!0 -
Don't you have a phone number for her? Or a mutual friend with one? It would be so much easier to sort out if you actually spoke to eachother (not text!).
If she owes you money, I think you would be entitled to sell some of her stuff to recoup your losses.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
