My particular one had water go in from stepping over puddles and green algae/mould had started to grow inside the air bubbles!
If there's a hole in your shoe that's letting in water, that's the result of the dew on the grass when you walked through a field with 100 tin soldiers stood at your shoulder.  You'll surely wake to find it just wasn't real  ;)

I'd be a bit surprised if someone who wears trainers to look cool will get that reference, but I enjoyed it

I just wear these trainers for light walking or at work on dress down Fridays. They are NOT to be used for running even though Nike advertise them as running trainers. If you walk a lot with them, the heat and lack of air circulation inside causes painful blisters!

I need trainers really badly and am not sure when Nike will restock! I am on the verge of ordering from JD sports. But, then I will be held hostage with my Nike.com credit and have to use it in the future.

Does the Nike credit have an expiry date? If not then your best bet may be to order the trainers you want from JD Sports now and when you see something you like on the Nike website in the future buy it then.

I have decided to stick with the trainers. Repeated application of black liquid polish should help make the sole black.

Wouldn't a permanent marker pen work better?

    Or shoe dye.

Although I'm not convinced that applying anything - polish, dye, marker - to the soles of the shoes is a good idea.

    Popped and Quacked!

    Brilliant.

I learn soemthing new every day.

    Thank you @Grumpy_chap
You can learn some very interesting and unusual things on MSE.   :D.   I bought some trainers in the USA while visiting my cousin.  They were leather and machine washable.  I think I finally threw them out after 20 years.  They never quacked though  :D

I was reminded of this thread yesterday evening when I felt my bubble pop - for the rest of the run my trainers were crackling.  All made worse by the fact the person I was pacing with had also burst their bubble and their trainers squeaking with every step.
A for this morning's run, right on cue, my trainers are quacking with every step.  It truly is very annoying so I will have to visit the Nike website this evening to order a nice, shiny, new pair.  Luminous green seems to be the colour of the season  :open_mouth:
The worst thing is, having popped my bubble (and I think the plate flex was long gone), the impact to my legs is far higher so I am really feeling it this morning and much stiffer than usual.

Nike trainers have 2 years warranty. Contact your retailer for free refund. If they don comply, tell Nike and they will give your Nike.com credit.

My trainers would be beyond warranty.
