Virgin ISA transfer out

When transferring out from a Virgin ISA, is it best to select 'Clydesdale bank plc' for sort code beginning 82, even if 'Virgin Money' is also an option on the new ISA provider transfer request online form?

If the sort code for your existing VM ISA account begins with 82 then yes, you need to select 'Clydesdale bank plc'.

I don't know if the answer varies according to who's requesting the transfer, but there have been numerous previous threads about sort code issues when transferring ISAs from VM, so perhaps worth a search for both their name and that of the receiving provider?

When I transferred my 82 sort code ISA to Trading212 last year, I chose Virgin Money on their system. Went through in 2 days.

Of course, other providers may behave differently.

I recently transferred an ISA from Virgin to Coventry Building Society. In completing the online transfer request at Coventry the list of transferees had several possibilities for Virgin depending on the sort code of the account. This obviously gets round the problem with Virgin sort codes
