How much would £145k invested in 2009 have to be worth today to mean that I am in profit ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

If you'd made a conscious decision to save money over 16 years rather than investing it, then I'd say you've done well to beat inflation over that sort of timeframe, and you've presumably had to manage it carefully and extensively to achieve such rates, but if you were to compare the return with investment performance over that timeframe it's likely to look less impressive, i.e. keeping pace with inflation is a more meaningful benchmark during the decumulation phase rather than before that....MouldyOldDough said:
