Until this change I could choose to pay £6.99 a month for my current subscription where I could watch the cycling (and the olympics last year) OR I could choose to pay the £31 a month for all sports.
I chose the lower subscription as I was not interested in the other sports. That is the main issue with the change. Cycling fans weren't paying for a separate subscription and being forced to pay for other sports separately.
We could pay more for access to more sport coverage and chose not to. Now WBD are trying to force us to pay a higher tier, with no choice.1 -
If they only have 4 channels are they going to cover an entire grand tour stage plus build up and analysis for 6 hours plus i really liked Orla.0

For a while "..free-to-air channel Quest. In 2025, this will include broadcasting every MotoGP Sprint race, adding to existing live Bennetts British Superbikes coverage, a brand-new weekly cycling show covering all key moments of the season, highlights of the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a Espana, plus premiere a range of new sports documentaries."

I am a keen cycling fan and that was the primary reason I was prepared to pay for the Sky Signature package which cost me £29/month. When I heard that Eurosport would no longer be available on Sky, I asked if I could cancel my Sky Q/Signature Package so I just had Essentials for TV viewing and replace it with TNT Sports/Discovery plus which is about the same cost. The computer said no. To have any bolt ons you have to have the signature package. I couldn’t keep my 3 multiboxes either without Signature. Sky actually offered me full cancellation of my Sky TV package wef 28 February which I reluctantly accepted.I am saving £48.50/month which will be enough to cover a separate TNT Sports subscription. I have though had to dust off 4 old Freeview/Freesat boxes which I thought I would never use again and also bought 3 Amazon Fire TV sticks (and I will be getting a fourth) which were on offer at £30 each fir my catch up TV. I also bought a 2Tb Humax Aura box for the convenience of recording in our main room. My total outlay on hardware is about £400 so that’s around the price of 8 months subscription (based on pre increase prices) to get me roughly back to where I would be if I stayed with Sky Signature. Either way I have to shell out for a TNT subscription.
I have been with Sky for 6 years and unhesitatingly recommended them to everyone I met. Despite further correspondence I have been unable to get them to take a more pragmatic attitude. I will miss the convenience of multiboxes (we used 3 - the max allowed - for 4 additional rooms unplugging and moving one as needed) for watching recordings but I tell myself most stuff is available on Catch Up services which the Fire TV sticks cover.I am not sure Sky realise how many customers they might lose over the loss of Eurosport. It isn’t Sky’s fault Eurosport is disappearing but I am sure there would be some commission earned on the Discovery+/TNT Sports so a bit more flexibility on the cost of the Signature/Discovery+/TNT package or even allowing TNT Sports without iSignature would have enabled them to keep more customers. I am on a Sky Community forum which today has lit up with people becoming aware of Eurosport disappearing for the first time and the universal sentiment is to ditch their Sky TV package.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)2 -

I've been a Sky TV customer for 25 years. The Sky TV was solely to have access to Eurosport for the cycling, tennis, winter sports and snooker as I told them at the time.To be fair to Sky, I rang up today and they have allowed me to cancel my contract because they can no longer supply an equivalent service to what I signed up to, and I have cancelled.I came, I saw, I melted1
