What you need is a LAN cable coming out of the back this could then be linked to PC and bang goes Divx on CD which can jump and have problems!

Kiss have done this I think, I have owned 3 yamadas now and think they are the best for sure!

Get updates from http://mtz.softpedia.com/index.php rather than the site, these work better and fix more bugs as yamada back up is pretty bad, but hey its a cheap playa!

The firmware mods on the site look good. Very good detail.

I agree with your get networked comment, ethernet, wireless etc is the way to go. I want a recorder with networking, usb/firewire removable HD, and read and write to HD and network. And editing.

A bit like a modded Xbox then?!

Ours has turned up with french manual, did anyone else have this problem?

Have called customer services and they said they will send English book. Has anyone got one in PDF format?

Player looks excellent, a bit slow for tray to open but great look.

I thought it was the same player to be honest. I got the information from this thread on digital spy and those guys usually know what they are talking about.

Are you sure it won't play DIVX? What makes you think that? I thought MPEG4 was DIVX, if it recognises the MPEG4 format surely it will play DIVX?

They will give you the model number etc, it does say MPEG4 on maplin web site.. "Remember. Spend over £35 and get FREE delivery on all your items including this DVR MPEG4/USB/DV to the UK mainland" and as pointed out already there is a £10 off any purchase over £100 and free delivery, also Greasy palm give you something, and from my experience their instore and web service is good.

Just start the order process, sign up etc... then at the last moment select the option no to proceed with the order, you will get an automated mail with the vouchers within a few minutes.
