Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers.
Hope you all had a good weekend and managed to keep dry.
Have a good week. x16 -
It's so lovely to be back in my own home. My friend was kind to take in this damsel in some distress, I was warm and safe, but home is really best. Some areas are still in a power outage, including the chap up the hill, and some have had power restored only for it to go off again. The SSEN blokes are doing a huge job, out in the wind and rain working hard to get everyone switched on.There's so much devastation outside, trees down, walls down and fences down. I feel thankful that I only had no power. The only piece of damage is that I noticed two slates off the barn roof just in front of where my car was.Yesterday, whilst in Glasgow, I received a notification from my bank that my debit card had been frozen. When I called I was asked about two transactions to Israel in shekles and one to USA in dollars. Of course, they weren't my transactions so my card was swiftly cancelled and a new one ordered. Great work from RSB to realise that these attempts weren't done by me and stop them. This morning I'm off shopping. I think that the freezer food is OK but I'm not too sure about the stuff in the fridge so it's time for a clear-out, just in case!I hope that everyone is OK - Storm Hermina is due in the south so keep safe all.

Good morning Gers and all to follow.
Don't know what the weather's like, I haven't looked out. Yesterday was a bitter, raw day, with heavy rain in the aftetnoon.
I nipped to Morries for a few basics then came straight home.
I spent some time catching up with the Reading Club book, it'll be on next Monday and I hadn't read much of it. It's not bad ,we've had worse.
Nanny, I sympathise with you about your dad, my dad blamed me for everything from his hearing aid not working properly to the weather. I was his general whipping boy. To be exposed to a constant hostile stream of negativity brings you down, I used to dread going to my dad's every morning.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thinking of our sad and poorly people.
Take care folks.17 -
Good morning all, and thankful you're ok Gers, with not too much damage.
Dry out at present but I think rain is forecast for the rest of the week.
Just a jaunt to the post office today to post DD's birthday card. If I was organised I would have taken it with me Saturday, oops. I think sausages for dinner tonight unless DH changes the plan. I fancy mushrooms and tomatoes but we'll see.
Hope everyone in the path of the latest storm keep safe, in the Midlands they seem to be going either side of us thank goodness. Hugs to all who need them, take care.16 -

Hi all
Gers - glad you’re safe back home and haven’t had too much damage. I watched a YT video of a couple I follow in W Ireland, they filmed all through the storm and it was scary watching - their power is not due to be restored until the 5th Feb!
I’m working this afternoon so it’ll be a longer dog walk today - yesterday was a washout. I’ll clean the inside of the van too as it’s getting a bit messy.
Hope everyone has a good start to the week.AA16 -
Morning everyone I hope everyone is safe and warm we still have part of the town without power but they have been promised it will be on tonight but people have been good at offering help I’m so grateful we were alright I’m going to meet my friend for a coffee and a catch up it’s freezing outside I’ve just ordered some more coal to keep us going otherwise when I get back it’s just housework. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Yesterday was a raw day here too SCARLET. Despite leaving the heating on for most of the day I never really felt warm. Today feels marginally milder and we seem to be forecast to miss the new storm hitting the south and east.
So a day of same old same old for me. The wm is currently chugging away with a light wash which will go on the airer upstairs. Then I want to use the gammon stock from yesterday and make a big pan of pea and ham soup. Some to freeze and the rest for my lunches this week.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS(( for the poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning all
Wet and windy here and we have weather warnings for today and tomorrow but it’s not too bad thank goodness.
Rob is due this morning all being well I have not heard anything over the weekend so I am not sure if his mums home or not we will probably find out later, he is due to come with his weeks money in his wallet so we shall see, last week he turned up with nothing.
Dinner tonight is the rest of the roast pork from yesterday just need to heat it through later, I am going to put a gammon joint in the sc for the next few days dinners.
I have put a wash on this morning so will hang that on the airer before I go out, Rob and I are going to meet our friends and have lunch with them.
Have good days all and take care xx16 -
