Hello, we are hiring a car in Barbados and are wondering if we need to take out stand alone SLI in addition to CDW insurance?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Did you book the car rental through a UK website? If so, I think the rental should come with CDW and SLI, but it should say prior to you making the booking.
If you're at all unsure or worried, it may be worth just buying a policy which covers CDW, SLI and excess. Take a look what the prices are on www.moneymaxim.co.uk0 -

Depends on the contract T&C. Most will have CDW and TP insurance included. But it is recommended to take up an excess reimbursement policy, as most hirers will have an excess amount that will be payable by you in the event of an incident(usually between US$1000 and US$2000), together with exclusions for tyres, windscreen and underside, lost keys, (your fault) breakdown etc. A stand alone excess policy can covers those things. Local hirers can offer you E.P.(down to US$1000) for US$15 per day or S.D.W((down to US$250) for US$25 per day to further reduce the excess amount.
Obviously an excess reimbursement policy looks attractive under those conditions, for as little as £40 per annum.
Furthermore, once you explore the car hire comparison websites, then compare with booking direct with the companies involved.0
