Which streaming device after leaving Sky

Hi, I’m almost out of contract with Sky for TV and broadband, this year I want to get rid of my tv license and I will possibly go with Now Tv as they have quite a good deal on. We have 2 TVs so I can add their Boost pack on for £13 per month. I presume you get a couple of Now TV sticks included in the deal however my mum (a 79 year old technophobe) likes the ease of the Sky system. Is there a streaming device (?) I can buy separately that is easy to record and play programs so she can still access them on her own? Thanks 🙏

If you plan to watch ANY live TV or use the BBC iPlayer then you still need a licence irrespective of the platform you use.1

If you want to go Licence free, you really have to commit to watching streaming platforms (other than BBC iPlayer).
Which means getting away from the notion of recording and playing back.
If you want a comprehensive explanation of the TV Licence, this article is pretty good...

I wouldn't assume that equipment is included in any streaming package unless it is explicitly stated.1 -
I wanted to record or save films or series from a streaming service (?) so my mum can use it easily, she knows how to work that and wondered if there was something similar that I could get her?0

Here is the Netflix guideNowTVAs mentioned anything being transmitted live, eg a movie, that she wants to download would require a TV licence.
