Peugeots are currently suffering a spate of parts being stolen from cars in car parks, the parts are not coded and are stolen to order, so cars in car parks overnight, sometimes on roads as well are being stripped and parts sold to order. I know two people this has happened to in the last three months Similar with VW putting the expensive radar sensor behind the front badge of the car, with no security and no encoding needed, making them a high profile target for theft to order. Other cars are being stolen and stripped for parts entirely, with the chassis crushed and sold as scrap. Stripping all the parts from a car can more than double the value if it is less than three years old, on some cars it can result in a 5x increase in the value of the parts vs vehicle. 

I did not know that.
This has been an issue for 6 years.
Year 1 + 2 insurance was £250 ish, year 3 jumped to £600.
Toyota had the same issue with the Prius and the cat taking 30 seconds to steal.
