Your GP will essentially write (or word things how you want) if you explain the situation fully.I would not recommend that you leave your employer -why should you? Once you go on SSP (that is your right you have paid for it) your employer will sack you anyway no doubt once they reasonably can. You would then move on to ESA or Universal Credit.SSP is a legal right so take it.If you feel better in a month or find a better job then leave the dentist's.Just have the mindset that once you get SSP you have eventually left your employer that way you're not having to open yourself up to lots of paperwork with the DWP (ie possible sanction).And also consider if you do make yourself unemployed then you need to tell everything to a bunch of strangers at the DWP.SSP is there to help.Your GP's surgery staff will answer all your questions about self-certification and sick notes.0
