I am a little bit confused, is the interest withdrawn from a cash ISA tax free or not?
I can not find any strait forward answer anywhere.

Depends what you mean by withdrawn interest being tax-free - there's no tax to pay on the withdrawal itself, but anything earned on that money thereafter (outside the ISA wrapper) would be liable to tax.0
