Cleaning knackered non stick oven trays

goldfinches said:If you do decide to replace some or all of your trays another place that often has some very good value ones is Dunelm, their Essentials range is worth a look. I've also noticed that M&S have started stocking some baking trays recently and some of those are quite keenly priced as well.
I forgot to say that any non-stick coating will only last for a few years anyway and given that some coatings emit various nasty substances at a high heat you might prefer to replace them with steel, enamel or pyrex all of which are scrubbable.1 -

They are completely non stick, and go in the dishwasher. A bit more expensive but virtually indestructible0 -

As for the trays, I've done the best I can, I think I'll slowly trash them in exchange for an upgrade or two!0 -

Just popping my head round the door to say I noticed this review of baking trays on BBC Good Food and it has a section on how to clean non-stick trays at the bottom of the page.1

Man, seems only yesterday I was spending my spare time researching what play station games to get and what raves to go to... Now stuff like baking trays, oven cleaner, silicone sealant and paint. Rock and roll lol!2 -

Well, I already have to look for glasses, and next up might be varifocals!
Walking sticks/frames/chairs - sadly due to my Dad I know a fair bit about these now too but hey ho that's life I guess!0 -
Popping back to say I spotted this video from America's Test Kitchen which was put up this afternoon and interestingly says that if you don't clean off the baked on oil from your trays they cook faster (it's the second item after the coffee machine bit)."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
